Our Community Involvement

We’ve been associated with the Dementia Society since 2016 and have recently been participating in the annual BrainyActive Walk for Dementia and supporting the organization. It’s a cause that’s near and dear to us and our clients. The Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County provides compassionate support, tailored coaching and practical education for everyone impacted by dementia while building a dementia inclusive community. For over 40 years, this registered local charity has supported people living with dementia, and caregivers and families to navigate the complexities of chronic, degenerative brain disease.

Our team is proud to support the Abbotsford Garden Tour, an event that celebrates local gardens while raising funds for the Abbotsford programs operated through the Glebe Centre, focusing on seniors. These programs provide vital support to more than 1,200 families across Ottawa through offering transportation services, educational classes, social clubs, community events, and day trips. Abbotsford and the Glebe Centre recognize the importance of nurturing mental well-being alongside physical health by creating opportunities for connection, creativity, and friendships. Since 1886, they have continued to enrich the lives of older adults and remain a pillar within our community.

2026 marked the 50th anniversary of the Queensway Carleton Hospital. Originally built to serve 100,000 residents, QCH now provides care and support to 500,000 residents; half of Ottawa’s population. Community donations play a vital role in helping the hospital upgrade essential medical equipment and technology. Our team was happy to sponsor the hospital’s annual Mahjong fundraiser. This event hosted games of Mahjong, Canata, and Bridge and is one example of fundraising events held throughout each year. This year’s edition raised over $59,000!

Kelly is a passionate supporter of Furry Tales Rescue, a volunteer driven small non-profit organization who make a tremendous difference for vulnerable cats in our community. Their mission is to provide urgent care and safe shelter local kittens and cats who are strays, rescued from hoarding situations, and have been surrendered by their owners. They also care for many senior cats with kidney or thyroid disease and help cats with feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). Since founded in 2015, Furry Tales Rescue has helped more than 10,000 cats find their forever home.

CHEO is actively adapting their services and infrastructure to better meet the complex needs of children and youth in Ontario. They have committed to reducing the number of children waiting for services by 50% over the next ten years. The first phase of this initiative is the development of a new Integrated Treatment Centre on their campus which will enhance care and expand access to individuals with complex medical, developmental, behavioural, and mental needs. Our team is proud to support CHEO in its mission to improve high quality care and help build healthier futures for the children and families across our community.

Over the years, our team has continually supported the Distress Centre of Ottawa and Region. Working within the continuum of mental health services, the Distress Centre of Ottawa and Region contributes to a healthier and safer community by providing suicide prevention, crisis intervention, psychological stabilization, emotional support, information, referral, and education services, without judgement, to individuals in need through their call centre.
